The U.S. Mint began the Presidential Dollar program in 2007, releasing 4 issues per calendar year.  In 2012 the distribution of Presidential Dollars changed from general circulation to private collectors as the Federal Reserve stopped distribution through the banking industry.  Presidential Dollars will continue to be available for purchase & the U.S. Mint will continue to release 4 issues per year until completion.
