What is coin toning & how does it affect the value of my coins?
Last Updated: 03/18/2015
The process of toning is a natural reaction of the coin's metal with oxygen & other chemicals in the air.
Toning will occur on most coins over time unless they are stored in airtight containers. Slight toning does not damage the coin or decrease the value.
