The Artistry Behind the Coins

Semiquincentennial Quarters (Five Designs, 99.9% Silver):

Mayflower Compact

Obverse: Two Pilgrims embrace as they behold the New World. The Pilgrims did not arrive at their intended destination and held no charter to establish a colony at Plymouth - so the Mayflower Compact, signed November 21, 1620, established the colony as a mutual enterprise governed by the consent of the colonists themselves. It is considered a precursor to both the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution. Inscriptions: "E PLURIBUS UNUM," "1776 ~ 2026," and "IN GOD WE TRUST."

Reverse: The Mayflower under full sail over rough seas, heading west toward the New World. The Pilgrims sought religious freedom, eventually landing at Cape Cod and settling in what became Plymouth, Massachusetts. Inscriptions: "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," "LIBERTY," "MAYFLOWER COMPACT," and "25¢."

Revolutionary War

Obverse: George Washington, first President of the United States and Commander-in-Chief of the Continental Army during the Revolutionary War. Inscriptions: "E PLURIBUS UNUM," "IN GOD WE TRUST," and "1776 ~ 2026."

Reverse: A Continental Army soldier at Valley Forge, Pennsylvania - his resolute gaze conveying the will to overcome the trials of war in pursuit of liberty. Washington's forces endured defeat at Brandywine and faced disease and extreme cold during the winter encampment of 1777-1778. Inscriptions: "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," "LIBERTY," "25¢," and "REVOLUTIONARY WAR."

Declaration of Independence

Obverse: Thomas Jefferson, author of the Declaration of Independence and third President of the United States. Inscriptions: "E PLURIBUS UNUM," "IN GOD WE TRUST," and "1776 ~ 2026."

Reverse: The Liberty Bell ringing - its crack visible, echoing the fragility of a young nation at its founding. The Bell often rang to draw people near and share an announcement, or a declaration. Inscriptions: "THE DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE," "QUARTER DOLLAR," "LIBERTY," and "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA."

U.S. Constitution

Obverse: James Madison, fourth President of the United States and popularly known as the "Father of the Constitution" for his role in drafting and promoting the foundational document. Inscriptions: "E PLURIBUS UNUM," "IN GOD WE TRUST," and "1776 ~ 2026."

Reverse: Independence Hall in Philadelphia, where the Liberty Bell was housed and where both the Declaration of Independence and U.S. Constitution were written, debated, and signed. The inscription "WE THE PEOPLE" highlights the founding principle that government is grounded in the consent of the governed. Inscriptions: "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," "WE THE PEOPLE," "LIBERTY," "U.S. CONSTITUTION," and "QUARTER DOLLAR."

Gettysburg Address

Obverse: Abraham Lincoln, 16th President of the United States. His portrait captures the profound burden of war on his weathered face, while his steady, forward-looking gaze reflects unshakable resolve and determination to move the country forward as one indivisible nation. Inscriptions: "E PLURIBUS UNUM," "IN GOD WE TRUST," and "1776 ~ 2026."

Reverse: Two hands grasping each other, representing Lincoln's efforts to hold the Nation together and his appeal to Americans to honor the dead and ensure "that government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth." Inscriptions: "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," "A NEW NATION CONCEIVED IN LIBERTY," "25¢," and "GETTYSBURG ADDRESS."

Native American Dollar - Polly Cooper:

Obverse: Continues the iconic Sacagawea design first introduced in 2000, depicting the Shoshone guide carrying her infant son Jean-Baptiste. Inscriptions: "LIBERTY" and "IN GOD WE TRUST," with distinctive edge lettering and golden color.

Reverse: Polly Cooper holding a basket as she shares the Oneidas' gift of corn with General Washington, who holds his hat in an expression of gratitude and respect. The design represents the generosity, courage, and sacrifice of the Oneida Nation during the American Revolutionary War. Inscriptions: "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," "POLLY COOPER," "$1," and "ONEIDA ALLIES AT VALLEY FORGE."

Enduring Liberty Half Dollar (One-Year-Only Design): For 2026 only, the half dollar replaces President John F. Kennedy and the Presidential Coat of Arms with a new design depicting the Statue of Liberty - an extraordinary departure from a design that has graced the coin since 1964. Struck in 99.9% fine silver.

Emerging Liberty Dime (One-Year-Only Design): For the first time since 1945, Liberty appears on the obverse of the dime. With one exception, the Liberty cap appeared on every dime before the Roosevelt dime - and for 2026 only, that tradition is honored once more. Struck in 99.9% fine silver.

Jefferson Nickel: Marked with the dual dates "1776 ~ 2026," commemorating America's 250th anniversary.

Lincoln Penny - Numismatic Exclusive: In Fall 2025, the United States Mint officially struck the final circulating one-cent coins, ending over 230 years of continuous production for everyday commerce. While circulating pennies are no more, the Mint continues to produce numismatic pennies exclusively for collector products like this Silver Proof Set. This 2026 Lincoln cent is a piece of history.
